Frequently asked questions

We will discuss with you your needs and the scope of the works to create your own SiteLook™ website. SiteLook™ is essentially a HTML-5 website that typically will reside on your internal Windows webserver. (We can host your website but have found most companies prefer to control access within their own company.)

Our photographers will come to your site and take photos.

Your SiteLook™ and equipment pages will be custom built.

Our technicians will create the SiteLook™ page linking photos and drawings to specific equipment as discussed.

You can preview the works from our server or we can up-load it to your server.

Most companies who have SiteLook™ give access to everyone in the business.

The General Manager will use it to look at parts of the site they do not have the time to get to see personally.(especially if there are remote sites.)

The Engineering team uses it too see exactly what parts of the plant look like so they can design, maintain and/or, upgrade without going to site multiple times. This has been invaluable during Covid times.

The Maintenance team uses SiteLook™ to plan Shut-downs and turnarounds, lessening their time on site. Also works packs can have photo snapshots taken from SiteLook to make them easier to follow.

The Operations team are able to plan works and find equipment quickly via the tag find feature of SiteLook™.

The Health and Safety Team use SiteLook™ as a tool to familiarise new personnel to site on where the Exits, Eyewashes, Windsocks and Extinguishers are located.

The Environmental team can use the multi-time aerial photos features of the same area to show vegetation growth and pond statistics.

Costing is based on the time to take the photos, the number of photos and the number of hot-spot links on the SiteLook™ page.

The first step is to mutually decide what the scope of photos are and how many hot-spot links you would like.

We will give a fixed quote based on the expected travel and accommodation costs and time estimated to take the photographs.

Depending on the size of the site we may send one or two photographers. Typically we can take up to 200 photos a day each. Photos are taken in the middle 6 hours of the day for best results. We use drones, 10m tripods and normal tripods to catch the perfect angle and best way to show your site.

Our photographers are used to working on industrial and hazardous area worksites and will complete any necessary inductions, SWMS and JSEAs required of your site.

We will use PDF copies of the of the P&IDs or drawings for inclusion into the SiteLook™ website.

The SiteLook™ development includes extensive independent checking of each photo and link.

Once the SiteLook™ site has been created we can add more hotspots at any time depending on your requirement. In order to keep the initial investment low some companies will start with 200 hotspots and later increase to over a thousand when required. This can be done in our office remotely.

Based on 1 day to travel and take 200 photos and then link 200 pieces of equipment between photo and drawing the cost would start at $12k AUD. It will take a minimum of 15-20 business days to create and check the SiteLook™ page before being able to upload. (Travel and Accommodation direct costs would be extra).

There no practical limits on the number of photos in each SiteLook™ website. Typically we spilt different sites into different minor projects that are linked via an overall map webpage that we would create for you.

The photos are taken at a high 16K resolution and then our processes break each of these down into hundreds of smaller files to enable quick network transfer. A 1000 photograph website may take up to 8-10GB and 800k of files on a webserver. While there may be a lot of files the servers are rarely highly tasked.

We have run the 10,000 photo SiteLook™ websites on Windows R12, R16, R22 webservers as well as on a small Netgear NAS.

Both Versions have the same functionality using the same controls.
V1 opens several separate browser windows and V2 uses one browser window with smaller internal frames.
V1 is now more suited to SiteLook sites that do not have equipment hotspots linked to drawings and other information.  Some companies do just photos for some of their smaller inconsequential sites.
